1- Automation & Controls Engineer (Intermediate)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support automation and controls systems for custom machinery and rollformer lines.
- Program, test, and commission control systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and related equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams from concept through final assembly and startup.
- Prepare complete and accurate engineering documentation, including control schematics, BOMs, technical specifications, and related project documents.
- Support design reviews and release processes in the ERP system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve controls, automation, and integration issues during assembly, testing, and installation.
- Work with outside suppliers and vendors to ensure equipment meets design, performance, and cost targets.
- Process engineering change requests in a timely manner and drive them through completion in accordance with company procedures.
- Research new technologies, components, and methods to support sound automation and controls decisions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automation, controls, or similar technical roles.
- Experience with industrial automation, material handling, and robotics applications.
- Experience with PLC/HMI programming, motion control, and machine integration.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine safety, and control panels.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings, documentation, and specifications.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and commissioning industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
2- Mechanical Design Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design custom machinery from concept through final assembly for rollformer lines.
- Provide complete and accurate engineering packages, including 3D models, technical drawings with GD&T, and design calculations, within budget and agreed timelines.
- Support and facilitate design reviews and sign-off for the release of mechanical designs in the ERP system.
- Work with outside suppliers to design products and equipment that meet specifications and are capable of cost-effective manufacture.
- Take timely action on engineering change requests in accordance with company procedures and progress them through the design office to completion.
- Research background information from a variety of sources in support of mechanical design decisions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree.
- 3+ years of experience in similar technical roles.
- Experience in automation, material handling, and robotics applications.
- Experience in machine design and engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with FEA simulation, dynamics, and mechanical analysis.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience creating technical drawings, documentation, and specifications.
- Good understanding of engineering calculations, material properties, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine elements, automation, and controls.
